Looking ahead

The game last night was wonderful fun! The Sounders won, and I learned the chants and songs and sang and clapped until my voice was hoarse and my arms ache as though I were lifting weights! Between that and the thirty minute each way walk (because we are too cheap to pay for parking) I think I got a pretty good workout yesterday! Maybe a little untraditional, but oh well.
Dinner wound up being at Wendy's. I went there with the intention of getting a baked potato and salad. Well, they were out of potatoes (and they couldn't get an order right to save their lives) so I got the salad, and I got a jr bacon cheeseburger. Not fantastic, but considering on Monday I would have considered being out of potatoes permission to get a Baconator and Large Fries, it's an improvement!
Lots of stuff going on this week to work around -- tonight is book club with a themed dinner, so I'll need to work around that a bit. Someone is bringing Rosemary Chicken and that sounds fairly harmless, so I'll talk to her and see what's in it and probably go for that. I was going to bring berry shortcakes, and that isn't too dangerous either. Maybe I'll just eat the berries and let others deal with the shortcake part of it!
Thursday is a busy evening, E has soccer practice and I have to go to the league meeting (I'm the liason between the league and the team, how soccer mom can you get? The only thing missing is the minivan!) so that will be a bit of run, run, run, but I'll be eating beforehand. Friday is date night. Nothing to special, but the hubby wants some cuddletime before....

my Port Townsend trip this weekend!!! My friend Kelli and I are having a bit of a writer's retreat, holing up in a cottage for three days! I can't wait! Three days, with no real responsibility (other than trying to finish this darn novel before Nano starts...). I can go to sleep when I want and oh dear god sleep as late as I want. Ahhhhh, heaven! Plus she's a pretty health-oriented person, so food shouldn't be a big issue. And if the weather holds, there's miles of sandy beaches, so when I get all pissed at my characters who don't want to cooperate I can go for a nice long walk.
