Up and running???

I've always had weak ankles and lately my right ankle has been crying foul a bit too often. Yet, I still want to pursue my goal, but I want to do it safely. Yesterday, I walked the 2.4 km that I have to be able to run to join the Reserves. It took me 27 minutes - not too bad. I did a lot of other walking too and by the end of the day, my ankle was talking, but not yelling. :-)

Today, I worked 6 hours on my feet, mostly walking, but as soon as I came home, I wanted to get out there and do my 2.4 km, so I did! I even jogged, tiny little intervals, to help reduce my time and I took 3.5 minutes off! Woohoo! I'm about ready to wind down for the day. I still need to make supper and do some laundry and play my pipes, but that will be about it. :-D My ankle is talking to me again, but again, not yelling. :-D

Working to strengthen without injuring further. I can do it!!! :-D I have to admit, SparkPeople is a fun way to stay focused and inspired! :-D
