My dad always said a man was only as good as his word. He felt that it was very important to be honest. As I've gotten older I've figured out that this means different things to different people. I think a lot of people aren't honest with themselves. These people have nary a chance of being honest with other people. I hear so much rationalization, denial, exaggeration, and spinning of the story. Whenever I hear some honest candor I'm impressed. I like people that will lay it all out for you. I think that is what impresses me about biggest loser. The contestants have to get really honest with themselves and be able to lay it all out for all of america. That is the only way that these people can change their lives. It's really the first step for any of us.

Interesting perspective. I think to reach the end of this journey, you have to learn to be brutally honest with yourself.
