Aha! That's Why My Scale Won't Budge!

Sunday, October 10, 2010

For the past month or so, no matter what I have done, I haven't been able to get my scale to drop. I've been logging every bite of food that has been passing my lips. I had been working out, and even started doing the couch to 5k. Nada. I was drinking lots of water, watching my salt intake, pretty much everything that I could possibly think of doing. Still nothing.

Then this past week, I started feeling really blah. I wasn't able to sleep well, which I figured was because my husband is back on rotating shifts, and so my normal routine gets outta whack as well. Then on Thursday, I was feeling sick. I just wanted to spend my day on the couch and stay there. Wasn't really hungry, and nothing sounded remotely appetizing.

When I finally got up to get something to eat, I bashed my knee in the corner of my coffee table. Ouch. Nice bruise and scratch right now on that. Then it clicked. Could I be pregnant???? Nah.... Maybe??? lol

The knee bash was the dead giveaway for me. Pretty much as accurate as a test from a store for me, but I went out and bought a few, and yup, I'm pregnant. Yay! All my kiddos have been "surprises" so I suppose that's why I never think of that possibility until I'm sick. lol

We are very excited, of course. I'm still going to use all I've learned and intend to watch what I eat and still exercise. I'm not going to continue my c25k right now though, because I am very very clumsy while pregnant, and with our roads around here, and it's just not a great idea, but I'll continue working out on my gazelle and going for walks.

This week I'm hoping to find a doctor. Never liked the one that I had the last time I was pregnant. I'm determined to find a good one this time. :)

Congrats! I am so happy for you! Our last one was kind of a shocker to us also. (We had been trying for 20 months) Keep up all your hard work and you will have the best pregnancy ever. I hope your doctor is one you like. Keep us posted!

Thanks for all the congrats! We are so excited. Scheduled a dr. appt. for Tuesday. Hopefully, she's a goody. :) I've been slightly nauseous through the mornings, a little sleepy mid-afternoon, but good for the evenings. According to my dates, I should be due at the end of May, but more likely in the first half of June. Can't go by a regular due date calculator, since I'm not always on track to begin with. lol

Congratulations, I had the same feeling this week, I'm not pregnant though. My scale didn't budge for about a week, and since my first kid I have phantom pregnancy feelings. I ran right to walmart and bought a pregnancy test, and then refused to take it. lol, I'm just not ready.
Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy. For me that seems like a strange thing to wish, because mine was miserable...I can'r imagine it being a happy time. However I really hope yours is! emoticon

:) I think that's the best reason for the scale not moving...I've been questioning that possibility for myself now because my scale won't move either! I kind of doubt it...but I suppose time will tell.
    Congratulations!! Babies are wonderful :)

I'm glad you're taking precautions at this early stage, and planning ahead to stay active and continue your progress into a healthier life style. Your whole family will benefit-- and you may be surprised at how much easier the pregnancy can be when you are fit... I hope all goes well!
