Time to recommit

Wow, I feel like I lost a whole week of my life, and can't say what I did with it! I haven't been to the gym in a week, and that's the first time in 7 months that I haven't worked out at least 3 days a week. It just seemed like one thing after another came up, some of it pretty trivial, like I left my Ipod at home, I don't want to go out in the rain, I'm having company for dinner. Things that a month ago wouldn't have stopped me. So, I've had my time off, and now I have to go face the music with my trainer tonight. He never yells or lectures, he just plans programs that include excessive numbers of squats, elbow planks and other things that are evil! And I expect he will be particularly "evil" tonight given my slacker ways for the past week!

The one thing I've really learned this week, though, is how crappy I feel after not working out! Really, I walked over to the building next to my office this morning, and felt terrible. And I want to regain my top spot in our Focus on Fall challenge team for strength training! It's these little things that help keep us motivated! So, last week is over and done, a new week begins, and I will get back to my 5+ days a week at the gym!

I totally know what you mean about feeling terrible when you skip the gym. I am just getting back into the swing of things myself. I do like how great I feel after a workout though. I want to kill my trainer when she has me do the evil elbow plank. But when its all said and done, I'm proud I did it. You should be proud too. You CAN do it. You WILL do it!

It's real easy to make excuses not to exercise. I've done myself. I know how you feel. It's amazing how great exercising makes you feel even though you don't want to do it.
Just forget last week and start again.

I know what you're talking about, I have not been to the gym in 2 weeks, I had a garage sale and for a week & half I was setting up for it all. I feel horriable!!! NO more EXCUSES!!! Good luck you'll get back in the groove
