Whew.. things finally settling down

Thursday, September 30, 2010

It's been a crazy couple of months to say the least. Luckily things are starting to settle down again, and I'm finally back to trying to work on me again. I say I'm going to be committed and then a bunch of "sh*t" hits the fan and everything goes down hill for me. The one good thing is that I learn a little something more about myself every time.

Well I finally convinced my DH after almost a year of trying that I needed a dog back in our life. My buddy Diamond went to Doggie Heaven in Oct of last year and I can't say that I've smiled a lot since then. It was very difficult for me and my DH. We are now blessed with not one but TWO, Dorgi (Pembrook Corgi/ Dauschound Mix) puppies. Linus and Lucy. I haven't stopped smiling since- and how is this diet related? Well first- I'm an emotional eater. Sad, happy, depressed, angry- it doesn't really matter I'm going to eat. Hence- I have no clue what I weigh right now (we've also lost our scale). However on the flip side of that, I've been increasing my activity. Potty training two puppies when you live in an apartment= instant exercise. I've also started jogging- Not a lot mind you, their poor little legs are very short but a couple minutes each day and we are doing more and more. This is huge for me as I've always wanted to jog or run but felt a bit silly out there by myself barely able to huff it for more than a couple steps. At least now it looks like I have to stop because my stumpy legged friends can't keep up with me!

Over the last week I've also tried to watch my diet a little better. I had stopped the Phentermine for a while (not sure why) however I've restarted this week.

Lucy is the black one, Linus is the Reddish brown one -4 weeks old in this pic however I didn't get them till 6 weeks. They will be 12 weeks this weekend.

Your puppies are adorable! Yes I agree they have a way of making you smile and laugh too. Even though they are small, they force you to exercise without thinking about it too much. All that bending and stretching not to mention all the potty breaks. Have fun with your babies.
