Finding time to exercise?

Sunday, September 26, 2010

I have been working 10 hour days 6 days a week, I just can't find the time to exercise. My food intake is suffering, too. When I get home from work I am so exhausted all I do is sleep. Just wondering how other people do it. How do I fit it all in? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanx!

Depending on your job, can you walk during lunch break?? Try getting 10 minutes in before work and 10 minutes after work. If you sit down to watch TV, do some sit-ups, push-ups or planks during the commercials.

Both issues affect one another, poor food choices lead to less energy, it is a viscious cycle, I am a witness!! Ice cream is my mortal enemy. We are heading into Christmas season, so work is not going to get easier any time soon. I would focus on eating right, not starving, but fresh vegetables and lean meat, a little fruit, you know the drill. Make sure you take vitamins too. I work for the same company, and this is no time to be asking for a lighter schedule, they are looking for any excuse to get rid of people nowadays. You could incorporate some stretching at work, and that would make you feel better, and maybe releive some of the exhaustion. Good luck, hang in there!!!

PS: I have been working 6 days a week for three years, even through my cancer treatment, not 10 hours every day, but Mondays are 10 hours. It sucks! We need to eliminate Saturday mail delivery.

That is a hard schedule. I hope that is more your choice than your employers! It will be very hard to work in exercise and live a normal life!!Try to walk where you can. Lunch breaks, extra steps for supplies, be super mindful of your diet, treat yourself to some exercise on your days off, even if it is only walking to the store to buy a magazine or rent a movie. You can use resistance bands when you watch tv . These are just suggestions. I hope this hard schedule of yours improves.

How about a walk during lunch break? If you have few-minute breaks throughout the day, throw in a few reps of strength training. I prefer to exercise in the morning because then I get the added benefit of more energy through the day, so if you can fit in a bit before work I bet you'd love it!
