Personal Challenge!

Good morning, All.

Today is the day I commit to following a well organized plan of attack. This is not my strongest trait. 8 weeks may change my life in many different ways.

So - I have two items to work on in the next 8 weeks.

1. Follow an organized plan
2. not spend any money (except gas) when my husband is on the road.

When he isn't home I tend to not cook as well and the children and I don't sit down at the table as much. I plan my meetings and outings when he is gone because I want to spend time with him when he is home. That sort of thing. I will get the kids fastfood (I am not a fan except McDonalds ice cream) or little things that add up financially when he is gone. I am not a shopper so it isn't that. I am just not as aware as I am when he is home. Probably doesn't make sense to those of you out there, but perfect sense to me.

Off to make snacks and lunches for the soccer players so i don't spend any crazy money as hubby is gone through monday.

Thanks for listening and ba-bye 5%!

I find myself gravitating towards the "easy outs" but am coming to realize that in the long run, grabbing that quick fast bite winds up making me tired and not being so easy. Additionally, my schedule rarely coincides with my son's schedule so it is difficult to motivate myself to make dinners with the other half of the family being across the country.
I find it helps to keep healthy snacks on hand. My current favourites are hummus with carrots and string cheese. I also keep yoghurt on hand. This has the added benefit of my son eating healthier snacks too.
    Good Luck!!

When my hubby is out of town we slide too. I had thought I had overcome it, but last week he was gone -and I found myself in old habits! It's not the fast food as much as it's nighttime snacking after the kids go to bed. No one to talk to, so I snack.

    Good plan!!!

Isn't it amazing how mindlessly we spend money sometimes? Great to have a goal, good luck with it.
