I DID IT! :)

For the first time, instead of just reading about the couch to 5k, I got up and ran! Week 1, day 1, done! My wonderfully supportive husband, bought me a mp3 player last week. I uploaded the first week c25k podcast to it, laced up my sneakers (which are the most uncomfortable sneakers I have ever bought, no wonder I haven't worn them since March), and hit the road.

Now, I wish I would have done a bit more thinking this plan through. lol I figured I'd just start running and see where I wind up. Doesn't sound like a bad idea, but it just so happened that every time it was time for me to run, it turned out to be uphill. I did run all my segments, except for one where I stopped about 10 seconds shy. This of course was the one that had the steepest hill. Looking back, I really think that if I would have realized that I was just 10 seconds away, I could have made it, but I'm proud of myself.

So, on to day 2 on Wednesday. I'm hoping that it's going to be like what a lot of others have said, and that it will be easier next time, and by day 3, I'll be cruising right along. I wore my pedometer and it says that I did 2 miles. Yay! :)
