My first 6-K Walk

One of the Curves instructors told me about a 5-K and 10-K walk that was taking place at the Dahlia Fields in Canby. I didn't think I'd ever get the courage to try it, but today - I did it!

I had to walk 1.5 mile to get to the start of the walk, and when I got there, they told me it was a 6K walk, not 5K. But I was that far, so I went ahead and did it. The Dahlias were beautiful and I enjoyed the walk, even though, being in Oregon, I got rained on most of the way. Then when I got back to the finish, I had to walk back home - another 1.5 miles. Gotta admit, that was the hardest part!

    Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I didn't feel too bad the next day, believe it or not. But I usually walk 1-2 miles a day anyway, plus attending Curves daily. So maybe that's why it wasn't too bad - but believe me, I WAS tired that night. I felt so good, about myself though...!
