I'm A Heart Breaker!

Saturday, September 18, 2010

Well, DH and I went to the hospital Friday morning at 5:30am, I kid you not, for his Heart Cath. At around 9:30am the Doctor who performed the procedure sat down and informed me that Norman has one artery 100% blocked, one is 70% and one is about 40-50% blocked. When I tell you that I was not prepared for that, believe it! I was blind-sided! Norm thought he was going in for a routine test for clearance to have Bariatric Bypass surgery but we sure do thank God that he had this test because we had no idea that his heart had all this blockage!

This is a perfect example of how God works in all of our lives! He really does know tomorrow and our future. "All things works together for good...." Now we are waiting to hear from the surgeon's office as to when he will have this done. They will probably call us Monday.

I don't normally talk about my past life but I have been through this before... I was married the first time back in 1972 and my husband then had a heart attack and had double bypass surgery in 1973. Unfortunately the marriage didn't last and we divorced in 1975. I remarried in 1976 and was extremely happily married for 25 years. In 2001, my then husband died of a heart attack. He had a weakened heart muscle which couldn't pump properly and it just gave up.

Now with the news of husband #3 needing a triple bypass my darling brother informed me (after I was I having a pity party about how every man I marry has a bad heart) that I was just a "heart breaker"! I couldn't help but laugh and he said that it was so much better to laugh then to sit around crying.. He is so right!

That being said Norm and I would so appreciate your prayers for the doctors and nurses who will be administering to him and please pray that all goes well and he bounces back better than before!

God Bless You All!
