Week one rapid loss... normal or not?

This is not my first rodeo, as I have said before. But since I started my healthy lifestyle changes 4 days (?) ago I have lost about 9 pounds. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I watch my portions, keeping them healthy and upping the veggies. The only changes are drinking the 8+ 8 oz glasses of water (and peeing all day and into the night) and exercising! Yesterday I did TWO 30 minute sessions on the stationary bike.

From my own personal experience I know that it is not uncommon for me to lose a LOT of weight the first week or 2, then taper off dramatically to 1-3 lbs per week, and sometimes hit those lovely plateaus that I simply continue to plug along through until the pounds start rolling off again. Plateaus can be frustrating, but you just can't give up! Eventually they give up first and go away~! lol

So, I'm expecting my dramatic taper off to happen by next week. The point is, that as long as I'm doing everything right, that when I start losing more slowly I continue to take pounds off, and not regain.

Thanks for listening! Has this happened to anyone else? I do think it's normal, at least for me it always has been.
