frustrating times

Thursday, September 16, 2010

I have been on the phone trying to get some answers from my healthy insurance..funny how they have no problem taking my money ever month but can't find any one to answer a few questions about my coverage.....I have been told my several people to have the test and then submit it and see how much they will pay...I asked if they thought I was stupid or what....I'm not going to have test run then hope and pray they pay....she said well suit your self but that's how it is done.......dahhhhhh and I can't change plans as it is mostly paid for by my retirement.
The doctors office told me I had to check with them (the insurance) and they would schedule the test.....a bone density test....

so now I'm going to walk on the treadmill to relieve some frustrations....and maybe scream a bit because now I got a message saying they are closed till 6.30 am PST tomorrow...those SOB's I have been on hold off and on for 3 hours....

have a happy and healthy Friday

Having had constant run ins with my insurance company, I feel your aggrevation and frustration. I could write a book about my run ins with them. I, too, spend a lot of time working out to get over it.

File a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner in your state. That usually gets their attention. Also, ask for a mgr. of the department....some people are idiots!

Insurance companies suck. I also feel bad for the people that have to answer the phone and explain to us what some stupid executive at the insurance company decided was a good idea. What a horrible job.

Kitt, normally if you call your insuance with the CPT code of the procedure, they can tell you if that particular code is covered. In our office, we can't say what's covered if it's a test that we don't actually do ourselves. The radiology center you would go to can give you the CPT code and then your insurance should be able to tell you if it's least I hope they can.

emoticon I'm not even going to touch that one
you scream all you want, it might help but I think the treadmill was a good idea.

We are so lucky so far in Ontario. We had a lot of cuts but there is so much that we are covered for.

Kitt, I've just finished 3 weeks of fighting with my insurance company and the hospital over the tests I had done this summer. It sure is aggravating and I truly think both parties try to make it as frustrating as possible. For my bone density test, first I was told that it was covered 100%, and now I'm being billed $41 because that's what insurance didn't pay. Really pisses me off. I'm fighting with insurance about it but will probably end up having to pay it. Such is the state of insurance these days...definitely not like it used to be when you paid your premium and they paid for your care. Sigh!!!

So sorry you are having such a hard time with the insurance. Life is difficult these days, to even get a human to talk to you on the phone! It is very frustrating!
I don't understand why they can't tell you how much they will pay.
Take a deep breath, and put it aside until the first of the week, don't let it ruin your weekend!
