Puppy update

Thursday, September 16, 2010

Well our little rescue puppy is still doing well. He has had a name change, we now call him Beau (Handsome in French) cause he is sooooo cute. Here he is on his last visit on Tuesday
Naturally he closed his eyes just as I snapped the picture. He was 8 wks old on Monday. When the lady from the rescue came she brought Beau and the 3 Yorkie-Poos (who are 9 wks old). Here is a picture of Beau, in the foreground, and Sam, the middle Yorkie.
I told everyone on Monday that we were getting all four of the puppies on Tuesday, so all morning everyone would ask when they walked by if I knew when they were coming. We were all anxious and when she finally showed up there were plenty of people to play with puppies. I always wait to take my morning break until she arrives, that way I have plenty of time to play. As you can see from this picture, I take my puppy play time serious. We all benefit from the visit. We get some stress relief and the pups get exposed to different people, sounds and smells. Beau is doing really well, he was wrestling with the other pups and playing the entire time. Hopefully he puts on enough weight soon so he can get his shots. I love playing with the pups but I won't be adopting any. When the time comes that I adopt another dog, it will be an older animal. Puppies are so darn cute they have no trouble finding a home. The older animals are the ones I worry about. We have alot of folks at the store that are interested in these four pups so I'm sure they will find good homes. Some days at work sure are good.

They look a bit like a poodle cross that we had years ago named Duffy. He was larger but what a character. We have 5 dogs but only one is adopted at age 2.

That is so kind to adopt older animals. I always walk up and pat the strays here, so sad. But they enjoy the interaction with a human. If I could I would take them all home! emoticon
