Back from vacation ...

So ... I'm back from the BEST vacation I've ever had. I took Klaus on a 5 1/2 week whirlwind tour of the States with Bonneville Speed Week as the Highlight of the trip! And man, was it amazing, awesome, incredible, fantastic, superb, mind boggling, beautiful, HOT, exciting, adventurous ... you get the picture it's adjectives could just go on and on! Or maybe making up new adjectives to describe might b3e in order!

About a month and a half before we left I FINALLY quit smoking! It's been just short of 4 months now ... but as you might have guessed I have gained weight. Couple that with eating out every meal for 5 1/2 weeks and it being hotter than I could handle for the entire trip (so I only worked out 5 days of 27! Bad!!!) and you guessed it I've gained 16 pounds. Not so worried about that since I KNOW I can lose the weight and the important part is that I am SMOKE FREE! Woohoo!

So while we were in the States, (sorry Laura ... we weren't able to make it to Virginia, and you'd think after 7,500+ miles of driving a few hundred more wouldn't be much of a problem!!! IT WAS!) I saw an infomercial for the INSANITY workout. I bought it. It was waiting for me when we arrived home last week. It took us a week to get un jet lagged. So I started it yesterday! HOLY CRAP! Just the fit test kicked my butt! Not working out properly for 7 weeks and gaining 16 pounds really takes it's toll on a body. Criminy I'm sore all over and I've just done the fit test (which was fairly disappointing on my fitness level, but something to base progress against) and the first scheduled DVD ... OWEE! My muscles are screaming!

So ... if you're thinking about getting/doing INSANITY ... I'm recommending it! Even if I feel like I did the first time I ever worked out!

Well, no matter what shape you're in ... you're going to be in pain after day one! It's a given. But it's a KILLER workout!!!! I'm lovin' it even though I can't walk.

    Welcome back Cindy!

I'm so glad that you had a great time on your trip. It's too bad we weren't able to meet up, but I understand. It sounds like you were super busy as is.

Congrats on quitting smoking! That's awesome! Way to go on getting the Insanity workout too, I've heard it's pretty intense. I'm sure that you'll be rocking that workout in no time!
