My weekend...

Sunday, September 12, 2010

I had a great weekend. My 7 year old grandson Julian came over Friday afternoon and he and I "snuck" to go get frozen yogurt, we went to the thrift store and then came home. We had a fun couple of hours together. Later that evening my other two grandsons, age 11 and 12 came over to spend the night. We had a slumber party in the living room like always. We had to get up early on Saturday for football so we all went to bed kinda early. Saturday we had to be at the stadium at 9:30 but Andrew's game didn't start until 11. I packed a nice healthy lunch and snacks for myself so I wouldn't have to eat yucky snack bar food. :) It was so darn hot out there, all the ice in my lunch bag melted, and my salad went swimming in water. I was so mad. Anyway, I was able to safe the fruit and water but I lost my lunch. I ended up having to go to a nearby market that has a deli, to get me a sandwich. That was not fast food, it took forever to get that darn sandwich and boy was it worth it. Turkey on whole wheat loaded with lettuce, fresh tomato, pickle and mustard. yum. By the time both of my grandsons finished playing it was 5:30 p.m. and not only was I exhausted from being out there all day, I was sunburnt too. We came home and just sat around, watching tv, the boys played the wii, it was a nice quiet evening. Today I got up early and went to the store to buy food to cook for the boys. My son Dale helped me when I got home to fix bacon, waffles and tater tots. The boys demolished it. I had a nice omelet of egg beaters and mushrooms with one slice of bacon. The boys played outside all day, I did laundry and helped my mom shower. I told my oldest son I needed to start doing some weight training so he busted out his weights, actually just the bar, and gave me 4 different things to do. He instructed me how to do them and told me I had to do 3 sets of 10 with only a a minute or two break between sets. I was sweating like a big and my arms felt like rubber by the time I was done. So now, I am on a strength training program, thanks to David. My two boys and my grandsons went out to get frozen yogurt, I had sugarfree non fat chocolate almond and boy was it yummy. It's almost 7 p.m., the grandsons just went home and now its almost time to start our Monday through Friday thing again. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Have a great week. Tiime for me to visit some friends Spark pages and leave them some love!!!
