Shhhh... Don't Tell My Husband... lol

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

I think I'm in love. Edward Cullen, you ask? Why, yes him, but my husband knows about him. Not much of a secret there. That's a given. Believe it or not, my husband doesn't even mind my Edward fascination. lol

No, I am in love with my brand new pedometer. Last week, I shopped around online after dropping my el cheapo pedometer one final time. It was a sad little thing. I paid all of $5 for it, it was highly inaccurate, but I used it anyway. It had duct tape on it to hold that backing on it, the display was scratched, but it was just not doing it for me. It's hard to be serious with something that just mocks you when you look at it to see how many steps you've done after working out and see it lies and says you only did 200 steps. Say what???? I walked more than 2 miles. I'm relatively tall with a long stride, but I am not a giant.

So, after reading many reviews, I spent a whopping $35 on this little beauty.

Not only does this have a clip case and a tether with a clip, it's amazingly accurate. You can program stride length, add your weight to it, and it will even store 40 days of walking on it. It will also calculate calories burned based on your weight, steps, and if you do an aerobic pace for 10 minutes. It also has software. I'm going to install that shortly so I can start logging my daily walks and see how effective my walks are. It's also very accurate tracking my steps while working out on my gazelle. I tried several times to "trip" it up, but haven't been able to do it. I've tried jogging around a bit. I put it in my pocket, attached it to my waistband, and even put it in my purse and walked around, and it was keeping right up with me. How great is it to know that I can take this with me and drop it in my purse when I am off shopping and not wearing something that doesn't have anywhere to attach it. I have a pair of shorts that my old pedometer would just jump off the waistband and go crashing a horrific death on my ceramic tile floor. I'm am wearing these same shorts today, and this pedometer didn't even make an attempt at suicide. lol

I had a very productive day today. I got in a total of 5 miles walking today on my gazelle. Easily reached my 10k steps goal, and I didn't put this on until 1 this afternoon. I'll probably be closer to 13k steps total. Right now I'm sitting at 12k, and who knows what I did this morning. I worked up a big sweat, so I'm off to reward myself with a nice soak in my jacuzzi tub, but only after I put the kiddos to bed. :)

I love you pedometer, Edward, and my husband, of course! :)

I love my Omron too! Mine is not as smart as yours, but it works great. I know what you mean about trying to get it confused, just to see! And that extra clip has saved it from a dunking more than once.

Thanks for the information. I want a MP3 player for Christmas. I was trying to find one that does it all but I don't think they make one. I think I will add this to my list. Then I can take it with me any where without the MP3 attached.

    I love your background!!

    Happy Thursday,
