My New Self vs My Old Self - BLC

B ~ BLOG : I have struggled the past 15 years with my weight. I have gone through several diets, brief periods of working out and nothing has sustained. I hated myself...I would wake up every morning with my first thought being NEGATIVE...how fat I was and how unhappy I was. I would go eat a ginormous breakfast and the self loathing would set the course for the rest of my day. Then...at bedtime I would lie in bed thinking how much I failed the entire day. I would stuff myself at each meal...filling a hole that was very deep. I would eat so much that I would be physically ill and in pain. I was very depressed and unpleasant to be around. I'm mean really...who would like someone who couldn't like their self? Last November I had had enough. I had to break the cycle so I called my local rec center and hired a personal trainer. I have been working out ever since and my eating habits have dramatically changed. I have lost 42 pounds and I really love going to the gym. I'm training for my 1st half marathon and I can honestly say that I'm really starting to like ME. I wake up now and my first thought is...I feel fantastic. I'm proud of me and I think the people around me have really noticed the change. I am more confident, happy and I laugh a lot more! The changes I have made will last forever...I still have some bad habits that I want to work on. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose.

L ~ LIST YOUR GOALS: Over the next 12 weeks I would like to lose 20 pounds. I am going to journal my food intake and track my calories. I am going to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I am going to continue working out regularly even after my 1/2 marathon! I am going to make better choices when I am emotional. I am going to weigh in once a week and I am going to be sure to celebrate my weight loss achievements and not beat myself up when the scale doesn't move.
I would like to lose 20 pounds in the next 12 weeks.

C ~ CORRECT AN UNHEALTHY HABIT: I'm going to work very hard to journal my food intake. My exercise is great...I'm failing on the food side. I'm going to drink 8 glasses of water each day and bring healthy snacks to work so I don't get super hungry and gorge at lunch and dinner. I'm also going to cut down on my alcohol intake. I will drink 1 night a week and limit it to 2 glasses of wine or 2 light beers.

    Congratulations on the changes you've made! You should be proud, you've earned every bit of change that has come into your life and your future is bright, bright, bright! You already know how to lose weight and get healthy and fit, it's just more of what you've already been doing and you know you can do that. Woohoo! Here's to the future!
