After a year of not being able to walk correctly I have discovered that my pain is NOT caused by my weight but by 3 bone spurs. I , at first, did not get a medical opinion because I felt I 'knew' that the problem was that I was carrying too much extra weight. Not so. After an xray by the orthopedic consult, there are 3 spurs , 2 at the back of my right foot and 1 at the bottom. It was there, plain as day, on the xray that was taken. So started the walking cast, the PT, the stretching and ultrasound and now, the steroids to try to reduce the inflammation to avoid surgery to remove them. I have gone with all that was recommended, including this latest regime of cortisone pills that are making me so tired I can hardly move. And now a 'soft cast' so I can't even swim! I feel I will get though this, and walk without pain once again, but will the medicine help,,, or will I need surgery???? the answer isn't answered yet!
