My husband...

Sunday, September 05, 2010

Just wanted a take a moment of thanks for my husband. I have not actually told him that I am trying to lose weight, as I want to lose 15lbs before I actually say those words to him to prove that I can do this. Obviously, living with me he has noticed that I have made some drastic changes, especially in regards to what I am eating.

First & foremost, I am thankful that I have ALWAYS felt loved by him no matter how much weight I had gained. He always made me feel beautiful, no matter what the scale said.

Second, I am grateful for his support despite the fact that I have yet to open up to him about my goal. Like I said above, he has noticed quite a few changes & is supporting me unconditionally. For example, he lets me pick where we dine out so that I can select a place with healthier options. Also, one night he noticed that for my nightly snack, that I had pretzels & mustard. The next night, that is exactly what he brought me. Last night he made us a salad, in mine he put the 100 calorie cheese cubes that I had recently bought @ the store.

Third, I appreciate how respect he is of me & how he is quietly honoring my choices, until I tell him. Last but not least, I know that when I do officially tell him, I know he will say something like "I believe in you Jen & you can do anything you set your mind to. Just do it for you!"

My husband is my best friend. Lucky, lucky me!

Well, he saw this & now knows that I am trying to lose weight. As expected, he was VERY supportive. I stress supportive as he is in no way pressuring me to lose weight. He is happy to see me feeling oh so very good about myself, & I am.

I love this blog!!! So many of us complain about husbands not putting the tp back on the roll or leaving dishes in the sink rather than in the dishwasher. It is great to see a post praising a husband. My husband is very much like yours. I won't pretend he doesn't drive me bonkers now and again, but unconditional love and support is his best and strongest qualities.

keep up the good work. baby steps have been the key to my success.
