Bike Rally

This is going to be short, because it's the Milwaukee Rally weekend. (motorcycles, not bicycles)

So, in the past, I would have gone to the Rally, and I would have eaten two brats and a few beers and fries, etc., etc., etc.

I actually had a banana before I left the house, because I thought I wouldn't be able to eat ANYTHING there. But today at the Rally, there actually were healthy options. I couldn't believe it. I bet they've always been there, but I've overlooked them. I had red potatoes with a little butter and salt and pepper--WHOA! I was all set to have the roasted corn (sans butter) but I was actually full from the potatoes. I did have a hard lemonade, but I needed to indulge a bit. Still, I didn't just stuff myself like I used to, and I didn't have to punish myself and starve. Pheeewww!

All I can say is, even at festivals and rallies, those choices are out there if you take the time to notice them, and if you realize that it's worth it to stay on track. If you're lucky, you can even find grilled chicken.

The great thing was that my potatoes cost less than the brats would have, AND I didn't end up with terrible heartburn and bloating. I felt great, and my jeans felt great on me, and I had more fun than if I would have ended up with a tummy ache. YAY!!!
