Where did my muscle tone go?

I am 55 nearly 56 yrs. old, and I hate the way I look in pants. Where did my muscle tone go?
I mean really, these wobbly, cottage cheesey thighs, please give me a break. They actually shake rattle and roll the whole time I'm walking. Now I undestand why alot of women wear spandex.
When I think about it, it seems my thighs have been this way a long time, I wonder what I did wrong. I mean there are lots of thighs going by me everyday on bodies that are larger than mine, but firm thighs peek out of their shorts. hmmmm, maybe it's in my genes.
I have way too much cellulite. So I said "do something about it". Exercise!
I started doing leg and thigh exercises, along with cardio to burn the fat. But can you tell me why do they have to be lunges? Oh my goodness, lunges to the left, and lunge to the right, and lunge forward and lunge backward. My poor old knees. I wonder if you can do a lunge while seated, that would take the pressure off. teehee.

I guess I should stop complaining, and look on the bright side, I am feeling stronger each time I exercise. And I look forward to it now. Plus my lunging is very good for the economy, I mean now I buy plenty of Aspercreme and Ibuprophen.
But the best of all....I look great in skirts.
