I'm No Longer Afraid of a Taste

During my long lifetime I've been on many "diets". I became afraid of taking a taste of my favorite foods. I even wrote a verse to remind me not to.
I must say "no" to that first little taste
I might end up licking the pot
If I say "no" then my pounds will go
'Cause a little taste does a lot.
Since I found Sparkpeople and have been logging my food and exercise, I've learned just how many calories my small-boned body needs, how much protein, fat, carbs, etc. and how important exercise is. Now that I've formed the habit of at least 30 min. of exercise every day
and adding more when I can, I know that "just a taste" of a cookie will not mean I have to eat the whole thing. I'm no longer starving my body, so it doesn't come up with wierd cravings.

    I think the secret is finding treats that you can have a little of without it compelling you to eat the whole bag or box or whatever it comes in. I have found there are things that fit that bill and other things that I can't have in the house or I will go overboard.
