Redirecting my binge... and some other stuff to kill time

Ugh I am taking a much needed break from the craziness of work to breath and focus on me! I felt a major binge coming on- and it’s soo easy to give in because I have an office to my self and I’m not 100% accountable to anyone- ahh. Luckily, I thought long and hard about it and said, “wait, I can go on Sparkpeople for 10 minutes, look around at other people’s blogs, pages, etc. and if I still think that binging on honey wheat pretzels is a good choice, then I can.” Well lo and behold, I only had to log on and decide to write a blog- and now I am working on silencing that faux-“hungry” monster within.

So anyways, now that I am starting to have a little clarity, I’ve decided to post about my first week (and what a week it has been!). I wish it was all good, but that would be a major lie! It was rough- and I failed (alot). However, I have been pretty good this week. I am rededicating myself to staying on my plan. I am so torn because I really think I can make healthier, better food than Jenny Craig, but the quickness of popping a meal in the microwave when I get home from work really keeps me to grazing in the kitchen while I cook. Ugh annoying!

I figure I will share what I eat everyday and I would love some feedback! Today:

Breakfast: JC’s Cheddar Cheese Omelet, Greek Yogurt (90 cals, 0g fat), 1 kiwi.

Snack: Toasted Nuts ‘n Cranberry LUNA Bar (170 cals, 4.5g fat), 2 scoops Chai Seeds (approx 140 cals, 7g fat) w 1 scoop chocolate protein shake (100 cals, 1g fat).

Plan for the rest of today (and so help me God, I am gonna try to stick to it)..
Lunch: JC’s personal pizza, salad

Snack: Greek Yogurt (90 cals, 0g fat), large green apple

Dinner: JC’s chicken carbonara, salad and JC’s triple chocolate cheesecake

So yeah, I know my calories are way up (esp with those chai seeds). They were an impulse buy at Vitamin World when I wandered in there yesterday. I guess they are a superfood and there are like no additives of any kind- they are a good sourceof fiber, protein and omega-3s. So I cant complain, but I need to work on my snacks because that is where I get in trouble!

I am also doing “The Cleaner,” which is a detox system (the bottle says “as seen on TV” so I guess it must be somewhat well know). As I said, I was impulse buying in Vitamin World so I bought that too! I really want to turn things around and “cleanse” myself of all my bad behaviors so I guess that also includes a mild laxative- lovely. Sorry, that was an overshare, but I want to maybe start posting about the product, and I can’t really beat around the bush on that one…

Anyways, thanks Sparkpeople! I have redirected my energy and mentality- and killed some time writing this (in between calls at work!). Now I only have to wait 10 minutes until lunch! Woohoo!

    The Faux Hungry Monster - I love it. I forget the monster is faux, and only becomes real if I let it. :)
