School has begun!

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

So my adventure of going to college for the 2nd time has begun! Pretty exciting. I'm taking Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Nursing Research, and Introduction to Health Sciences. I'm not 100% sure that I will end up on the typical RN route. Who knows. What I *DO* know is that I have to do something more with my education. I refuse to ever work in retail again, and being laid off twice in 2 years really sucks!

I'm excited to be back in schoool. I'm a little worried about it financially, and a little worried I'm wasting my time, but overall I am super excited to learn MORE. If I could be a lifetime student I would :D But you don't get paid for that ;).

I weighed myself yesterday, or was it the day before? I can't really remember. And I'm down another 2lbs. WHOOP! So exciting! It's been crazy hot though, in the upper 90's, and for Maine in SEPTEMBER.....thats very hot. We are usually starting to cool off at this point. The heat has always made me sick, literally massage headaches, diarrhea, naseau, etc. All summer since I've been on the thyroid meds this has vanished. Which has been absolutely wonderful. Especially considering how hot and humid this summer has been for us Mainers.

This last heat wave (been this hot since monday), has been kicking my behind HARD. I haven't done a single C25K session :( It's really depressing. We don't have A/C in the house (except our bedroom) so currently I am sitting in the Library on campus waiting till I need to pick up the baby from daycare. Which is another 1/2 hour. GOOD thing...is that I got one of my homework assignments done and submitted. It isn't due till friday, but I'm anything but a procrastinator ;).

Tomorrow morning I have an interview for a work study position. Although I don't know if they will want to hire me. I won't be able to work very much. I can't do nights...as I don't have a sitter for the baby (hubby works nights) obviously tuesday are out of the question as I have class all day, wmf I have class in the am, so potentially I could work a few hours in the afternoon, and I could work for a few hours on thursday mornings. I'd rather NOT work the weekends because I'd like to see my husband at some point during the week....and I'd like to be able to spend time with my daughter too. Waking her up...dropping her off at the daycare...only to pick her up to put her to bed isn't cool.

Anyways. I'm super happy about another 2lbs down. Officially 205!!! Exciting 6 more to go, and I'll be under 200!!! :D So just a few more weeks.

Friday they are threatening some issues (potentially massive) from Hurricane Earl. If we are lucky it will not come too close to land up here, but the way the meterologists on the news are talking, that could easily happen, and there is no way we won't avoid part of the wind and rain. Let's just hope the storm weakens enough before it reaches us. We haven't had a real hurricane here in many many years. 1990 with Hurricane BOB. Don't get me wrong, we have had quite some dooseys of noreasters and such......and even this summer we've had quite the handful of tornados.

Anyways. I should probably stop rambling, and head to pick up the baby. :)

Not sure what to do on dinner....Rattatouille...Gumbo
...Red Beans & Rice...they are all contenders :)
