Do I Really Want to Get There?

I am so close to my goal weight. Yet I think I am resisting trying too hard to reach it. Maybe I think I will miss those moments of satisfaction at seeing a pound drop off. I have reached other goals in the past, like completing a marathon, Somehow the initial excitement wore off and I felt a little depressed. I felt, "What now?" The race is finished. I need a new goal, so I would start working a new goal of beating my time.

So when I reach my goal weight, what will be my goal then? Saying to myself, "Wow, my weight has stayed the same this week!" probably won't do much for me. Will I set a new goal weight of 5 pounds less? Or is that how eating disorders start?

I need new ideas of goal to set after I reached my goal weight, which is only a couple pounds away. It is the start of a new month, and time to set goals for the month. It is time for me to think ahead and plan my next steps for when I reach my goal weight.

    I can really relate to your post in more ways than weight. Really, what happens when your goals are met, and then what? Gotta make new ones I guess! emoticon

    I have thought about that more and more the closer I get. I worry, what if I keep losing the will I stop myself. Should I keep weighing myself once a week? What happens after that "miracle number"? To be honest...I don't know the answers. I suppose it is different for everyone. It's just part of the journey....and really, I don't expect or want this journey to end...I'm sure it will be a lifelong journey for me.

    Yeah..lots of other goals you can set. What else do you need to do in your personal life? I set goals that include ALL of me...job, family etc.

    There are TONS of adventures out there you could try! Climbing a mountain, kayaking, skydiving, learning a new type of dance...the sky is the limit! And there's nothing to keep you from doing *whatever* you want! Google "adventure" and see what pops up. :)

    I've been thinking about your topic alot lately since I'm 11 pounds from my goal, not sure what I want to do with myself, but I know I have to stay goal oriented and keep busy. I've always wanted to try body building, not like the pros, just see how much definition I can achieve. Hmmm? what to do? I'm sure you will find another goal, and wow, a marathon is quite an accomplishment. If you can do that, you can do anything. Good job on all your hard work.
