I have weighed myself every day for the last 15 years or so. I graph the results and pay more or less attention to it for various reasons. I can never say, "I hadn't realized I had gained so much."
I had gained back nearly all the weight I lost during my first 6 months of really sparking. I started paying more attention. In the last 2 months I have lost 2 or 3 pounds. Not exactly earth shattering.
So here's what I noticed. From Monday weigh-in through Friday weigh-in, I've been losing 2 or 3 pounds. Then over the weekend I pile it all back on. Week after week after week.
The good news is that I noticed this because I weigh in every day. Had I been weighing in once a week, I would throw up my hands and shout - PLATEAU. But no it isn't a plateau. I am actually losing ........ and gaining ..... and losing ..... and gaining.
So now, the question is what to do about it. Also, not rocket science. I have gotten pretty good at tracking my food DURING THE WEEK. I don't get up to the magical 10,000 steps a day much, but DURING THE WEEK I usually walk between 7,000 and 10,000 steps a day. I haven't been doing much strength training but what I have done has been DURING THE WEEK. I haven't done any stretching PERIOD.
So, it's Friday which must mean the weekend is rolling around.
1. plan my food for the weekend tonight
2. track ALL my food this weekend
3. go for at least one long walk
4. go to the gym to strength train once
It's ambitious, but I CAN DO IT.
