Check-in yesterday and today ~

Wednesday, August 25, 2010

Yesterday, I weighed in and had gained 1 pound exactly, and I am cool with that. I also measured myself and have lost 3 inches, so I know I am still headed in the right direction! Of course, it is pretty easy for me now to do a self-assessment and know what I need to be working on. I know most of the time why I lost a certain amount one week or gained a certain amount. Honestly, this week? PMS, for SURE. I will NOT weigh myself to "make sure" this week, and I am eating breakfast right when I get home from the gym so I don't feel tempted to jump on that scale.

I ran for the first time in a week and a half yesterday. I went with the runner's group, and ended up running with my running partner, Erin (hehe same name) who is also coming back from an injury (she hurt her IT band!). We ended up running 3.4 miles while the rest of the group ran just over 4 miles. We knew we had to take it easy! It took us 40 minutes, and we walked the last mile because Erin's knee was starting to hurt.

I felt awesome, and could have kept running, but I do not leave a partner behind! Especially when it's not a race.

So, this morning I went spinning for 45 minutes. Did upper body ST during the last 15 minutes of it (the class is Cycle and Sculpt..super fun!). I ended up spinning for 23.4 miles in those 45 minutes (well, plus 3 minutes of warming up). I then went to the treadmill and ran for 1 mile. That also felt super great and I could have gone longer but I didn't since it wasn't supposed to be a running day (since I was cross training) and also because I need to be home by 7 a.m. now since DH needs to be getting ready for work then (and I need to care for the li'l one).

I had a great day eating-wise today, with one minor ALMOST setback. I dropped my daughter off at my parents, and had a major craving for Burger in, a huge cheesy-type burger with more than 1 slab of beef on it and super sized french fries. Well, I am in a challenge that started today where our challenge this week is to NOT EAT JUNK FOOD ALL WEEK! So, I shoved that thought into my mind, and made it home where I made myself chicken vegetable soup and a healthy grilled cheese sandwich (since I was obviously craving cheese). I am now having a snack of green and red grapes for my sweet tooth, and am ready to go to bed.

Oh, and tomorrow is my 5-mile run, so I am excited about that! I am planning on expanding on a route I have run before (a 4-mile run) and that has me psyched because I miss my old routes and need to do them as much as possible before winter hits!!

Well, it is now 9:04 and one of my goals is to sleep at least 7 hours a night, so I better get going! Love you all!!!

P.S. As for the name dealio, I will be making a decision about what to change my name to before the week is over ;o}
