W9D2 Complete!

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

It was alarmingly cold for this run. Not like winter cold, but about 68 degrees- which is freezing compared to the endless waves of heat we've been experiencing. It was also rainy and windy. I kinda liked it though...the park was empty but for 5 people (which is RARE in NYC) and it was nice and cool. I don't really have "cool weather" workout clothes at this time, so I borrowed a tee from my running buddy (which, btw, was a size medium!). We threw some jumping jacks into our warm-up because we figured it would take longer for our muscles to heat up since it was so much colder out and I definitely think that helped.

I'm still experiencing that second lap mind block. Hmm. I am still unsure what to do about that but I'm trying to stay as focused and positive as I can. Its just this 10 minute-ish period of time in my run where I really struggle....otherwise, I'm fine. Better than fine!

We've thrown some sprints into the end of our runs to help increase overall fitness and endurance. Today we sprinted for 5 minutes (23-28 minutes into the run) and let our heartrate drop for the last 2 minutes of running. I think it really helps both with conditioning and self-esteem, haha. It makes the end of the run so exhilirating and I feel so accomplished!

Only ONE MORE DAY of C25k!! I can't believe it! emoticon emoticon
