Monday Afternoon - ish. A few "life" updates

Monday, August 23, 2010

Hey all. I feel as if last week I was pretty un-engaged so I thought I would post an update for any that are interested.

1. My job has become uninspiring to me with the restructure my department has endured. So today I have my first interview(over the phone) with a panel. I am a little nervous. It would be an outstanding new opportunity, but I am afraid I am the "dark horse" in the running. None the less, I am positive and any interview helps polish the skills!

2. One of my favorite uncles is dying from cancer. I was home this weekend to see him and say "goodbye", however I am certain he didn't know I was there. It is tough, and I know there is a funeral in my future.

3. My shoulder prognosis is not what I would have hoped for - especially when you are looking for jobs outside your current employer! The prognosis is surgery - to clean up a significant amount of arthritis that is not allowing my joint enough room, as well as to repair a torn rotator cuff muscle - the supra spinatus. Ugh.

4. I want all my Spark Buddies to know I am here for ya all! I know I wasn't as engaged last week, but it was a very "full" week and I am working to be more engaged for you AND for me. I need to stay on the path to health, regardless of life and because of life.

Again, sorry to hear about losing your uncle! Sounds like you are going through a lot here lately. Even though the thoughts of having surgery is not your favorite thing to do, getting it out of the way while you are young and strong would be a good thing. Otherwise, it (your frozen shoulder) will just wear on your nerves and keep you from living your life to the fullest. If you had your surgery in the autumn then you would be healed and ready to go for next year and next spring and summer you could get back to doing the things that you enjoy. emoticon

"Me" time is a must for all of us. You gotta take care of you before you can help everyone else. Change what you can and know that there are thing you can't change. Stay positive and I hope the new job will come your way! emoticon

I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. I know you didn't hear what you wanted concerning your shoulder but surgery will help you heal. I wish you much luck with your interveiw. Just remember you can do anything you set your mind to!!!
