I want to lose 30lb. I always thought that I had to do it NOW. But the other day I saw/read bout somebody that had lost 100lb in one year and figured that they lost 2lb (average) per week. Sure it took a year, but they got it done and were transformed in only 1 year. I'm sure she thinks back to how she looked and felt just 1 year ago. I realized that it dosn't have to be done NOW as long as it gets done. So my goal is to simply lose 1 to 1.5lb per week. If I lose 1lb per week, in 1 year I will have lost more than i need to...more than my goal. I've lost 11 pounds before by using sparkpeople.com but re-gained most of it when i stopped using sparkpeople.com. This time I'm going to lose more and keep it off.

    I like your spirit! Even if you dont meet your goal completely you will have improved your body. So lets plod on in this together.

    I have never managed to loose the recommended 2 pounds a week, apart from the time I was really sick with pancreatitis (and that time does not count....). But over the 3 years+ I have used sparkpeople I first lost 10kg (3 of that before I started SP), then healthproblems kept thrwoing me back I regained 6kg, which I now have lost again.
    I am not as toned as I would like to be, but I am light enough for long runs again. I have RA, so long runs put a lot of pressure on my joints. The heavier I am the more of course.

    Now it doesnt look to unlikely that I can do another Full marathon.
    And the rest of the weight will come off eventually

    How many weeks until the end of the year? 19 weeks. Ok 19 pounds is a good goal. You didn't put the weight on overnight and it will not come off overnight. Slow and steady.

    Healthy weight loss is usually recommended to be 1-2 lbs per week depending on how much weight you have to lose, so your goal is now both healthy and within your reach! Good luck and continued success!
