It's August Already?!

Hi Spark friends. Well, a lot of time has gone by, and I haven't been on Spark much at all in the last few months. Not surprisingly, I've gained weight, too. After the miscarriage, I just couldn't bring myself to care about being healthy and weight loss.

We're trying for another baby, so far with no success. I think part of the reason I'm not getting pregnant is the extra weight. Both times I've gotten pregnant before, it was after losing weight.

So, I've decided that it's time to start again. I'm tracking my food and exercise again, and while I know it's going to be a slow start (it's too stinking HOT around here to even want to exercise!!), at least it's a start and that gives me hope that I haven't had in a while.

As it usually happens with new starts to healthy living, today there was a big blow. Hubby has to work late tonight so he asked me out for a lunch date to a local mexican restaurant. I got home and totaled up my lunch... Over 1500 calories!!!!??!!?!?! Are you serious??!?!! Anyway, my breakfast was good and I'm not going to starve myself the rest of the day but I will eat a small and very healthy dinner. It's not the mistakes that define me. Right now, I'm just so happy and proud that I didn't count the whole day off and just binge, but I tracked everything and made a plan to keep going. This is a lifestyle change, I'm not going to make or break anything in one day or one meal.

I could really use some support and motivation this go around. I think I'll be browsing spark teams and trying to get more involved.

In other news, I got a promotion at work! I'm now coaching other agents 3-4 days a week and taking calls only 1-2 days a week. The schedule allows me to get off a little earlier and get some more sleep a few nights a week. That is such a blessing when it comes to weight loss as I tend to binge when I'm exhausted.

    Well first of all, welcome back! Secondly, let me congratulate you on the promotion and wish you continued success! I'm a relatively new member - joined about halfway through summer - and have really enjoyed Spark and it's People! I like to try and stay active on here - so if you ever need some feedback or support, stop by my page and let me know! I completely understand about how one meal can practically have enough calories for the entire day! Anyway, hope you're having a great week and getting focused on your goals again.
