New Year, Old Memories

Tuesday, January 02, 2007

I seem to have spent the last 6 years since my divorce erasing my past. I am not sure why I have tried to erase my past, but I am glad that it had re-established itself in my life.

I ran into my ex brother-in-law at Walmart yesterday afternoon. We talked for a good 20 minutes, it was nice to talk to him, have missed him. He has not changed a bit. All in all between seeing him and reconnecting with my own family it was like bringing the past and the present back together. I know that sounds weird.

I doubt I will keep in contact with him, but it was nice to know that he still is willing to talk to me.

Someone recently told me that I needed to find balance in my life, and I think the universe agreed and is trying to help bring that into focus for me. Now all i need is the relationship balance. I am not looking to get married or anything. I just want a relationship that is healthy, I am not having too much luck there. I keep repearting old patterns. Perhaps this year is the year I finally break free from those old demons.

After my divorce I too tried to forget the past but by doing that I was erasing all the good that came from it. Instead I now choose to live in the present and learn from the past.

It took me awhile to get the relationship thing right. I think it was learning to mature and love myself before I could truly love someone else. Thankfully I have been given another chance at love and I have to say it's the healthiest relationship I've had to date.

Just as you made choices about taking care of your outward self, the same applies to the inside. Just take it a day at a time.

You really look awesome. Continued success!!
