August Log, Blog and Salad Challenge - Day 13

Friday, August 13, 2010

Nutrition and exercise are logged. Logged the challenge points. Posted 3 smileys.

For the past two years or so, I said I wasn't going to buy clothes until I lost weight. This week I shopped for clothes. No, I haven't lost enough weight to make it imperative. I just needed a few items.

The pants were a size smaller. The tops were the same size...or yikes, a size bigger. The kind and attentive sales clerk was kept busy, running back and forth to get the same items in different sizes or colors.
It may be the style, but snug fitting clothes do not flatter me. I cheered when I heard a famous writer say that she has reached the age where she no longer wears clothes that are uncomfortable. There's a lot to be said for advancing maturity.
The clerk assured me that I am probably not a size larger for tops. Size depends on the cut. She said she wears anything from 1x to 3x.

Seems to me with pants two sizes smaller than the tops, I should fall over soon. You know those charts where you are supposed to pick if you are shaped like an apple or a pear? How about shaped like a waffle cone? This is not what I had in mind when I said I wanted to lose weight.

Oh dear I fear I am with you! Much to my dismay my husband assures me that I have not shrunk up above! emoticon I really really do not like to go shopping but I used to say that if I really wanted to stay on a diet I should have to go shopping everyday. Lost my appetite right away! Sal emoticon

emoticon On the smaller pants! Shopping used to bother me, but not anymore, I don't worry about the size anymore either, as long as it looks decent, and fits well, that's all I seem to require lol lol! It is a bonus though when you do need a size smaller !!!!

I use to love to shop until the mirrors at the store made me look fat. That was a real eye opener for me last year, lol. If people want to lose weight they really should go shopping cause nothing more upsetting then not fitting in to anything and moving up in size. Isn't spark a blessing cause not only does it keep us on track, it lowers our pant size.
