Just wondering if anybody has any helpful ideas to help relieve it. Have gone to the Dr., a dermatologist, doesn't help much. My husband has it, and sometimes the outbreaks are terrible. Thanks for your help.

My DH has it and he does not use soap at all. and polytar sahmpoo when it was severe. He uses nivea sunscreen on his face. If it gets really bad he will use steroid cream. Hasn't had to do that for a long time.

Hi and yes I may be able to help to some degree as i have had every available treatment in this country and have also seen a dermatologist in France. Let me know if you want to talk more. emoticon

I'm afraid I have never dealt with this, so am of no help whatsoever! Have you considered trying a naturopath? I've known people who have had no luck with conventional medicine for various conditions, and who went to a naturopath and received diet changes and natural supplements, and saw great improvements. It couldn't hurt to try maybe. Best of luck to you!

Psoriasis runs in my family too. My dermatologist has told me to just use moisturiser since steroidal creams have caused skin damage in places. That helps a bit. I find the best thing though (and my mum, who also has it, agrees), is to try and expose the affected areas to sunlight for a bit when possible.

If it's on his scalp, I quite like polytar as a shampoo - but, it really stinks the first few times you use it.

    Hope that helps!
