So I just figured this out.. 6 months of sparking later...

Friday, August 06, 2010

I just figured out how to really use the recipecalculator feature of sparkpeople. I have been on this website for 6months and been frustrated by how hard I found it to use the calculator and enter recipes. It still feels clunky to me to have to enter the ingredients twice and I don't always have size of measurement I want on the pull down, but I actually was able to enter a rational recipe-I haven't figured out how to edit once it's posted. Today I did, and went to my nutrition tracker and then to my favorites, pull it down and enter on my tracker.
I feel like I have just made a quantum leap!

Go see the recipe that inspired that leap, they are tasty little treats!

I am so LOW-tech when it comes to computers and programs that I don't know if there could be a better way, but for what it's worth, I find it awkward and cumbersome too. I manage with it, not well and not happily, but I guess it's better than not having one. As for measurements - I'm forever having to 'Enter Food Not Listed.' :-)

I'm with Andi, I am finding new things all the time...I know I haven't tried half of them...BUT, those muffins sound yummy so I will try them (after I pick up some blueberries). Thanks for sharing...

I've used the tracker a few times too, and also find it a bit cumbersome. But it's nice. Unfortunately, the recipes I've entered are extremely high in calories. So I either have to adjust some of the ingredients or find other, more reasonable alternatives. It certainly is a nice feature to have, though.

love the recipe calculator but I agree ta entering them in twice is a pain. I just copy and paste the second set and delete the extra symbols. Helps a bit.

    Sounds like a yummy recipe!

You are a step in front of me. I still think I only use about half the tools that they provide.
