So have you ever watched Sesame Street and seen the famous scene of Cookie Monster going crazy over cookies....... That WAS going to be me but I stopped.
You see, last weekend I thought I was being nice to my kids and bought them some bakery fresh cookies..... Sugar and ginger. Eek.... what was I thinking?
So the kids aren't eating them fast enough and they have been sitting on our kitchen counter. So I get home from work and they are staring at me. They look so delicious but I have already had my fair share of them so I am blogging. Blogging away and hopefully fighting the cookie temptation. And then after I get done writing this blog I am going to go for a walk. And ask my hubby to hide the cookies or get rid of them. (If I hide them it doesn't matter - I'll go grab one later.)
So I now know that I need to stay away from bakery goodies. I thought I was doing good by not purchasing the ice cream but forgot that I do like bakery stuff. If I would have bought a package of Oreos I would be just fine. So lesson learned and I am going to try my hardest not to be the cookie monster tonight. Wish me luck!

When I was a kid, our oven didn't have a thermostat, s we didn't get pasteries. Consequently, Cookies were always my weakness.
DH is as bad, so I make "Chewy Lumps" They are high fiber, slightly sweet (no sugar), applesauce instead of oil, high protein. We use them as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Beat that Cookie! So I have a suggestion that might sound out to lunch to all the mom's out there - and I am not a mom so you can take it or leave it.
What if you split the cookies up and freeze them? Then they won't be on the counter waiting for you... but then you would have to defrost or serve frozen. My husband loves frozen baking and it is the only way I can still do it without the temptation. I just never go to the freezer.
Hope it helps. Love the Cookie Monster reference....it feels like that sometimes.

I haven't really craved cookies in a while. But keep those Little Debbies away from me. We had a Pillsbury Reduced-Sugar Cake Mix and Reduced-Sugar Icing in the pantry. I wanted to get rid of it, so I made cupcakes for my daughter over the weekend. Oh, what a mistake that was! I had 1 a couple of days in a row. But I chose to look at my successes instead of my failures. Had I not been doing this diet program, I would have eaten more than 1 and probably more than 2! So that's progress! Sounds like you're making great progress too! Good will power on your part! 3827 days ago

Stay strong. It seems like a great night to go for a walk.
I have learned that I am addicted to Schwan's Bomb Pop Jrs. Thank goodness they are only 45 calories each. I'll be happy when the box is gone and I'm not ordering those anymore for fear that I will eat the whole box.
BUSY_MOM3 LOL Now I've also got that song stuck in my head! QUICK! Someone grab me my BEP cd! :P You CAN do this! Just think of it this way: imagine the dirtiest person you can possibly imagine. Now picture them making those cookies, dirty as they are! BLECH! Now do you want one of those?! :) I had to do the same thing earlier w/some Angus beef hotdogs I made the kids for dinner, they left a couple of them on the plate and they smelled sooooooooooooo good...had just one, then poured myself a bowl of Special K cereal, ate that and drank the milk! 3827 days ago
JEN_BACK2BASICS I had a cookie fit the other day and went into a small food shop I happened to be driving past, looking for Double-Stuffed Oreos. Yum!! They happened to be on sale. Yay! And they happened to be out of stock. Woo-hoo!! The store saved me from myself!!
Hope the walk helps rid your mind of the cookie monster! You can do this. 3827 days ago
