I recommend reading the "BECK Diet Solution" which isn't a diet book, but Judith Beck, PhD, teaches how to THINK like a thin person. Her father developed Cognitive Therapy for people with depression as he is a Medical Doctor. I go a copy of her book at the library. We have a SparkTeam here for support.

    1. I’ll look better.
    2. I’ll be more attractive.
    3. I’ll be able to wear a smaller size.
    4. I’ll be able to wear nicer clothes.
    5. I’ll like what I see in the mirror.
    6. I won’t feel so self-conscious.
    7. I’ll be healthier.
    8. I’ll be able to exercise without discomfort.
    9. I’ll live longer.
    10. I’ll feel better.
    11. I’ll have more energy.
    12. I’ll be fitter.
    13. I may actually have romance in my life!
    14. I’ll like myself more.
    15. I’ll feel like I’ve achieved something important.
    16. I’ll be MORE CONFIDENT.
    17. I’ll have more self-esteem.
    18. I’ll be less self-critical.
    19. I’ll be more outgoing.
    20. I’ll do more things!
    21. I won’t have to listen to anyone commenting on what I’m eating.
    22. I won’t have anybody bugging me re: my weight.
    23. It might help my career.
    24. I might make friends in the vicinity.
    25. I might get a new love life.
    26. My back won’t hurt any more.
    27. People won’t make snide comments behind my back.

Cravings are usually more emotional and physiologically intense than hunger. The moment I decide I will ABSOLUTELY NOT EAT cravings will diminish.
When I experience a craving my attention gets fixated on food. It is important to remember that the experience of eating goes far beyond the actual time that food is in my mouth - It includes everything that happens afterward: feeling weak, guilty and out of control and gaining weight. In the past when I tried to diet, I gave into cravings, and I felt upset with myself.
I know I don't care at this moment, but pretty soon I'm going to feel really bad that I ate this. When I get on the scale, I'm going to care very much. If I don't learn to resist eating food I'm not suppose to have, I'll never be able to keep off the weight I lose.
I have to become an expert at resisting all food that I haven't planned to eat. If I want to lose weight and keep it off, I just can't eat what I want unless it is on my plan.
I am choosing to say NO CHOICE.
If I want to lose weight, I have to do what I need to do, not what I feel like doing.
Successful dieters and maintainers stay successful because they don't eat whatever they want, whenever they want it. They stick to their plans.
It is true that I don't care at this moment. But if I eat this unplanned food, I'm going to care quite a lot in a few minutes. I know I'll feel really bad if I give in now, but I'll feel really terrific in a few minutes if I resist. I need to do something else!

    Hey Hon, emoticon

It's so good that you blogged! I understand the spiral and then you wake up and wonder where the time went. I think you have taken a huge step at stopping those spirals by committing to blogging no matter how you feel. You will then be able to look back and see a pattern and then stop it before it starts.

You said you have been doing better in the last year, so look back before that, where were you? How did you feel? What was going on? Now look how far you are from that! YOU are making progress!!!

Remember that all the strength you need in right there within you. I know that's true because you have the love of Jesus Christ in your heart and YOU can do anything through HIM who strengthens you.

    God bless you.

GIRL....I wondered where you'd been! I really urge you to read "Women Food and God"....it's helping me get back on track too. I know how you feel. (I was annoyed that ONCE AGAIN something popped up to throw me off track 2 weeks into a new effort...but there is only today, no yesterday!)

I think everyone can see you are a wonderful person and beautiful inside and out. It's awesome that you have your hubby for support too! Hug him extra hard for us!

    Keep doing.
Where we most fail is when we try. The choice to do is significant. The Yoda quote is real. Either Do or Do Not, there is no try.

By joining this site you have made your decision loud and clear, you are a doer.
Keeping God as a center in your life confirms your decision. Our "jobs" on this earth are about each other more than about ourselves. Yet, we have to be strong enough to help others, thus we must take care of ourselves too. Morgan Freeman, while acting as God in Even Almighty, offered one of the best discussions on how God answers our prayers. God gives us the moments to master what we fear, desire, and seek. God will not choose for us, nor will God bestow what we must earn and choose.

Remember - You are a DOer!

We all struggle at times and will continue to do so. Just as you acknowledge it, and are determined not to give up tells me that you will win the battle! emoticon Good luck, and be blessed. emoticon emoticon emoticon

It is about one day at a time. I think that you saying the words out loud is the biggest step, you can do it.

Hey girl. I'm soooooo glad to see you put a blog up! Thank you so much for your support on my page. Just know that you are not alone in this struggle. I can't tell you how many times I have fallen and then picked myself back up. The most important thing I tell people is just keep getting up. NEVER quit or the battle is over and you have lost! But I see you are already thinking that way. Please please PLEASE just get on here and spark mail me or something when you are feeling so down or when you want to pick up that candy bar. I have been in your shoes and I still wear those shoes occasionally. FREQUENT occasions... lol No one is gonna say BAD TINA BAD.... I just want to support and encourage you and I want to see both of our numbers dropping and see BOTH of us getting thinner on camera for the world to see!!! You can do this girl. And so can that hubby of yours. You have so much to be thankful for. You should watch DDUFF's motivational vlog from last night and work her motivational sheets. They really do help you put things into perspective!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hang in there! We have all been where you are. Every day is a struggle. Just take it one day at a time. It doesn't matter how many times you fall - it matters how many times you get back up. Keep the faith. You are strong! You can do this!

It's so great to see your gorgeous face!! :)
I know it can get tough... I had a really hard time last week emotionally and physically.. and I can honestly say, that vlogging even tho I felt so bad kept me going.

We will always have those ups and downs, and we can rely on each other when we need a boost... or a kick in the butt! (I can kick really well) lol

Alright, this is going to sound cheesy, but lean on me!!!! :)

Come on girl - You can do anything through Christ.
