Good or bad?

Well this morning I had my appointment for my 'annual' checkup and all the fun that goes along with it. What was I thinking having this appointment right after a week's vacation? I figured my weight wasn't bad as I didn't do badly on vacation but yet I still indulged in some things I wouldn't normally and clearly didn't get enough exercise in so off I go being optimistic about the whole thing. I did weigh at home before going. So I dressed as lightly as possible and knew they wouldn't allow me to shed my shoes so worked on that as well.
So of course, upon arrival, the scale is waiting. I think this is the worst part of any doctor's appt. LOL So I got on it and was pleasantly surprised. Was my weight up - yep but you know what, I was only 3 lbs different from last year's visit and this after being away for a week. I could of beat myself up but instead, I saw it as a success. Success that I've maintained within 3 lbs over a year's time. I think that is quite an accomplishment in itself. My blood pressure 100/68 and a year ago it was 100/70. So all is looking good. I get to have breast exams 2x a year. So now I will schedule my mammogram and in January will have an MRI/with contrast. Seeing the family history is what it is, it is a precautionary measure and fortunately my insurance will cover it all. But (no pun intended) is I also get to have a colonoscopy! I haven't had one in years and I know the prep is the worst so I'll get it scheduled and plan accordingly. If they don't give me demerall, I should be fine. I had a bad reaction to this the first time I had a colonoscopy. Isn't growing older such FUN!
