Enjoying the Ride

emoticon Good morning!

First things first, I didn't go riding yesterday morning because I had to get blood work done while I was fasting. Thought about going but when I return from riding I need to have breakfast. Dr's office opened at 10am so thought it would be to my best interest and not faint lol. But, I took the day off and met up with the family and headed out to Coney Island for the afternoon. We had a blast with my Nephews! I was happy that I was active instead of laying around watching TV.

Below are this morning's stats;

Duration - 25:04
Cal burned - 119
Pace - 8:07 min/mi
Speed - 7.4 mi/h

Today I had my iPOD on but I was concerned about not being aware of surroundings so had the volume low. It was a nice day to ride, a cool breeze and early enough that there weren't too many cars out. I wanted to try a new route today but I chickened out - - I'm going to try it tomorrow. I also need to make sure I increase the amount of time my heart rate is within the appropriate range to burn fat. I will slowly increase it, certainly do not want to over due it either.

I find that riding is therapeutic for me and I look forward to it, having the wind hit me, listening to the chain and my tires on the road gives me a sense of freedom. I feel empowered to do & accomplish whatever I set out to do and that is a wonderful feeling to have early in the morning. So far I have taken the first step and have a routine set for myself, this week I will ramp things up a bit, change a couple of things & continue to challenge myself.

I try to enjoy life everyday, I always tell everyone to make the best out of any situation, life is just too short. I'm enjoying mine as much as I can, I'm no cheerleader but I am who I am and I enjoy it in my own way. I don't let the little things ruin the moment & try to make lasting memories for my Nephews like my parents did for us.

Ok I'm off on a tangent LOL, gotta start my day have a full day ahead of me.
