W5D3 Complete!

emoticonI can't believe I did it! Yay!!!

Of course it rained...for the first time during ANY of my C25k runs. I have never run in the rain before, so it threw me off at first. What was most annoying was that I had to tuck my iPod in my bra so it wouldn't break. About halfway through, the rain let up so I put it back in the holder. At which point the headphones unplugged, so it paused (even though it was on hold) so I had to ask my running partner where we were in the podcast and try to sync them again. All while STILL RUNNING! I was impressed with myself. At the end, my partner turned to me and was like, "Man, you didn't break your pace at all through all that drama" haha.

I am so excited that I completed the 20 minute run! It was not hard at ALL, actually. I was nervous as hell, but I didn't need to be because this was not a big deal. I enjoyed not having to start/stop all the time. It was sorta funny because at the end, the podcast cues day 2 to run for the last time, but day 3 ends a minute early so I knew I had 7 minutes left. And I thought "Oh wow, only 7 minutes left. Not bad!" And afterwards, I laughed at how weird it is that 7 minutes left of running seems like nothing to me now! CRAZY!

I have NEVER run for 20 minutes straight in my entire life! This is a really big deal to me and I'm just soooo excited!!!

Way to go! Isn't it amazing how the C25k program really prepares you for that 20 minutes? I remember be shocked too - and nervous - but there you go! Drama and all you did it! You can do every run from here out, because nothing is as big of a jump!!! Way to go!!!

Aw, yay! Congratulations! I am so proud for you!! I know you are feeling good right now, and you should because that it an amazing accomplishment!

I know what you mean about not stopping/starting. It almost seemed easier to run the 20 minutes straight for W5D3 than to do the two 10 minute intervals for W6D2, and I think that was simply because of the stopping and just getting cooled off a little and then starting again.

Can you believe that we both only have a few weeks left until we complete the program and will be running for a full 5K?! Yay for us both!
