So I kept on saying I'd do it, I even managed to leave the DVD, my mat and weights in the living room a few times but I didn't actually get round to doing anything =S!
So yesterday night after a motivational and inspiring talk with my sister on the phone, who is on the Atkins diet (and is reeling me into it!) I decided to finally give it a go. When my brother saw me going downstairs at 1 am he asked what was I doing, when I told him 'that fitness DVD' he burst into a fit of laughter but that actually made me happy I'm finally doing it! I'm doing the DVD!
So imagine my morale when I couldn't find the remote for the DVD player!
Thankfully I live in a home where the boys love their toys, so I turned on the XBox 360, and away I went...
So here's my verdict.
It is amazing, it worked every part of my body except for my abs, but what was I expecting with such a small proportion of the video focusing on them anyway?
I'm not the fittest of beings but I loved my sport, at boarding school we excelled in the tournaments at rounders (baseball?) and netball. At my previous school I loved basketball even though I'm quite short I managed to be one of the best shooters. But even then my body was shaking during some of the positions and Jillian really doesn't let you rest! You are constantly on the go and she really makes you work, my thigh muscles felt and still feel the burn. If I felt unsatisfied with the way I did something I paused the DVD and did it until I was satisfied.
Afterwards my body was still shaking slightly, while I was gulping down the water
my hands were shaking! Even now some 14 hours later my thighs are slightly shaky while climbing up and down the stairs but while walking I'm fine.
Overall a great video, short and it's definitely a workout, disappointed in how my abs feel but that's okay as it's only a 20 minute workout. It compliments my new fitness regime really well.
Oh and I started at Level 1 and followed the woman who was doing the slightly progressive form of the workouts.
