Weekend Rides

Monday, July 26, 2010

Sorry I haven't been blogging much - I am just super busy with life! I am training for Pelotonia once again, and I am doing 180 miles on a bike over 2 days to raise money for cancer research.

Here is my Pelotonia page if you want to see more details. Lots of exciting things have been going on with that and I am more involved than ever!

Over the weekend I had two very good training rides. One was down in Athens, OH where there are lots and lots of hills and we did 45 miles in some extreme heat. The heat index was over 100 and it was getting to me. I was getting somes signs of heat exhaustion toward the end of that ride.

This picture compares Pelotonia (which is a very hilly ride) with the ride I did in Athens. That Athens ride may have been more hilly overall than Pelotonia! Blue is Pelotonia's 100 mile route and the Pink is the 45 mils in Athens.

Then yesterday I did 45 miles in Marysville, OH and that was mostly flat and I had some great speeds on that but we had two big nasty hills. My legs today are shot!

I have one more big training ride this coming up weekend - an 81 miler followed by a 54 miler the next day. Then I taper and rest and get ready for the BIG ride!
