Power Saturday

Saturday, July 24, 2010

Wow, what a jam packed weekend I am having. I was at the KC convention center yesterday morning before my shift and again early today. I am taking a little break before I head back down tonight for the awards ceremony. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and talking with people, querying them on the business and just taking note at how many women seized this opportunity. Oh the fashionistas that are parading around down here, wow I can't wait to reach my goal weight to be a bit of a fashionista myself. I remember seeing a spot on the Today show a few weeks ago about taking care of your feet with proper pedicures. I know my feet need work after seeing all the women and their polished tooties emoticon

I just worked nine hours yesterday. I know I can't work all the hours and enough is enough. I slept a few hours and got up and headed back down this morning. I hate to sleep away my weekend and I am a bit tired, but seeing, meeting and greeting new faces and going to new places is living life out loud and that is what I want to do.

To God be the glory emoticon

I agree! All women can and do deserve to look good - put that in your budget! You need to have a clothes budget, manicure and pedicure budget! Sister, we all need to spend money on ourselves - that is important too - just as important as saving money, paying off debt, and paying our bills! I certainly hope that is what you are learning in your classes that you are taking - or I would have to disagree with them in a big way!!! That doesn't mean going out and spending money whole hog on yourself! but looking nice and taking care of our hands and feet is necessary and important! I believe in paying God first (tithe), ourselves (savings), bills, setting up a debt repayment plan, leaving enough money for vacation, clothes, personal (hair cuts (including coloring, straightening or perms - whatever you need), manicures & pedicures, books or DVD's or CD's (whatever is important to you), entertainment (could be cable, movies, conventions, going out to eat with friends, whatever you like to do), gifts, Christmas, and so on. But the most important is the things that feed you, my dear, and not to wait on the clothes and manicures and pedicures, and shoes! Just some truth learned from someone who has learned to spend money on herself in a reasonable way who used to be a "personal pauper" and spent money on everyone else! but me!

Don't wait until you are a certain "size" or "weight." Start taking care of yourself now, please. Remember your body is a temple - inside and outside! Not only what you put into it but what you put onto it! You look like a beautiful woman! Wear your clothes proudly! Just speaking from experience.
    Love, your sister in Christ,

My niece painted my nails yesterday. It felt good to have some pampering. I hope you get yours done soon too! Have a blessed day!

Treat yourself to a pedicure, your feet will love you for it. I squeeze one in every month. I love the sandals in the summer. Girl please, you don't have to wait to become a fashionista. Invest in a few quality pieces and rotate. Big girls can and are beautiful. Take care of yourself not matter what size you are. You deserve a treat today. A good pedicure and you will be walking and strutting your stuff.

I know what you mean about not wanting to sleep your weekend away. I work a part time every other weekend and I try to do something on my off weekends. One of the things I try to do is mani and pedi. emoticon
