Other's perspective

Thursday, July 22, 2010

We are home safe and sound. DH had rotator cuff surgery this morning and still quite groggy... waking for 10 -15 minutes of alertness before drifting off again. Evidently tomorrow will be the down day as all the various injected and inhaled pain killers and sedatives wear off.
When I am ailing in any way, I want to be babied, nursed, comforted, asked if I need anything. DH is just the opposite and he really is going to need help for at least the next two weeks. He is right handed and his right arm is now effectively velcroed to his body. I have to figure out how to help with out seeming too. This will be my challenge for the next few days!

I'm very glad your husband's surgery is done!
Good luck with taking care of him when that is not what he might want, but is what he will need.
