I'm taking back my power!

Thursday, July 22, 2010

Yes, it's hot and muggy. Yes, my body is very uncomfortable in this kind of weather.

But, I've had it. I've stopped exercising. I've been taking the bus the last mile to work instead of walking.

It's an excuse and I'm not letting my manipulative little mind do this to me. The gym is air-conditioned. It's NOT that hot in the morning and you know what - I can walk that mile back to the train station, too. I'll give myself a few extra minutes, but I will walk it - every day. If it rains, I have an umbrella.

I walked that last mile to work this morning for the first time in 3 days. I will go to the gym tonight and weight train.

I CAN AND WILL DO IT.

I know you can do it! Make sure your water bottle is full on the extra-hot days, walk slowly, and wear a hat to protect yourself. Think of it as walking meditation! Go for it! emoticon emoticon

You go girl!! I know it's easy for us to trick ourselves into not doing what we know we 'want' to do. Just take it one day at a time! emoticon
