Aquarius: January 21 – February 19

In your mind, the more the merrier! You have a very open mind when it comes to new ideas. This means you’re often the first one in your circle of friends to try a new fitness activity. You adopt the latest trends and equipment into your program, even when others are reluctant to change. You have a strong social conscience, so why not combine your fitness goals with charity work? Sign up for a 5K or 10K run for charity, or swing a hammer to build a home for a less fortunate family. You can get fit and feel good at the same time.
First of all, I have to say I do not really consider myself a social person and I usually try to avoid social settings as much as possible. Don't get me wrong, I like being with close friends and family, just not with people or situations I am not familiar with. Most of the time I enjoy being by myself too but I do think I am a friendly person. However, last summer I did join my first fitness class ever (a spinning class) and I loved it. Then in the fall I joined a boot camp class and recently a running class. I love boot camp and for the most part I like the running class.
I do agree with being the first to try things though. Sometimes my friends think I am just plain crazy for trying something new and different. I have done several 5K's and all of them are for good causes and I have another 5K planned on July 31st, to benefit the local soccer club.
That is interesting about building a house. My mom's house is a habitat house and I got to help build it and it was a blast. I have also been to Mexico with Casa's Por Cristo (Houses for Christ) and helped build a house there for a family. That was also a ton of fun. I would love to do one or both again but I have not had the time or opportunity.
