Turning 40 the Healthy Way

I will soon be turning forty. I look at this as a good and a bad thing. The bad is that it seems time is just flying by. It seems like yesterday that I turned eighteen, and now FORTY! The good is that I am determined to make this the best decade of my life. I have some chronic conditions that cannot be changed, but getting as fit as possible is something I can control and do something about.
To begin, I am having a healthy birthday. My husband and I will be going hiking in the Appalachian Mountains to celebrate. I have asked for health related birthday presents as well. I have already received a Polar HR Monitor from my Mother. I have used it for two workouts and it really makes a difference. It is wonderful to know how many calories are really being burned.
Due to the brutal summers in the American South, I workout with the Wii most days. So for my birthday, I have asked for new Wii Workout games. I have requested Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports Active More Workouts and the new Wii Gold's Gym Dance workout (coming out August 17). I am looking forward to a healthy and active decade!
