Dear Mr. Scale

Dear Mr. Scale,

You and I have been together a long time. But lately, I haven't been very happy with our relationship. I exercise and eat right, yet you never seem to notice my accomplishments. I think we should spend a little time apart. Don't feel bad. It's not you, it's me.

I fell off the wagon and weighed myself today. I'm down 1.2 pounds. I won't weigh myself again until next Thursday. emoticon

It's been a couple days, and I haven't weighed myself yet. I'm going to assign Thursday as my weigh day. Once a week should be good enough.

Too funny -- and too real! :-D Thanks for the smile and the reality check. I'm beginning to want to hide my scale somewhere and only bring it out once a month instead of weekly (ahem, ok, honestly that would be daily).

Thanks for the smile! Have a great day! Joanne

This blog and the comments are great!!! I too haven't been having a good relationship with Mr. Scale....he's been very mean to me for a very long time. I have been exercising and eating right and he has been teasing me with 6-8 lbs for about 6 months. Back and forth, back and forth! I sympathize with you and try as I might, I can't ignore him!

I think Jenny has the right idea. Mrs. TM has been a little friendlier to me, maybe we should listen to her more!

    Good Luck!

I promise to hang out with Ms. Tape Measure. She seems nice. emoticon

Been going through the same thing. I'm trying to stay away from it but just can't. So maybe we should focus on the way our clothes fit and how we see ourselves, leaner etc. In time it will budge.

    Dear YogaGirlNH,

Mr. Scale wanted me to tell you he's sorry, and he wanted me to make sure you were spending time with his good friend Ms. Tape Measure. She's very skilled at noticing the little things that he, as a man, might miss. He apologizes for his inability to recognize the changes that are no doubt occuring to you at this very moment, and strongly recommends that you should make an appointment with Ms. TM if you haven't met her already.
