The other day, someone told me I was looking thinner in the face, and she wanted to know if I was losing weight. haha :) I hadn't stepped on a scale in a couple of weeks, but I did say I was trying. She said it's obviously working.
I stepped on the scale again this morning, out of curiosity, and the number went up a bit, but I don't really know what it was doing in the two weeks I hadn't weighed myself. Obviously, something's working.
Last Saturday, the boy and I went up to the lake near his parents' house. We had to park on the street across from the park, so the walk from the car, through the park to the lake, around the lake, through the park from the lake, and back to the car was about 4 miles. Not bad. We actually took sandwiches in and stopped to eat our sandwiches about halfway in, which was good, because we hadn't eaten much before our walk and I was starving. lol. :)
It was nice to get out walking again. We're trying to decide if we're going to go out to Mt. Diablo or Angel Island and hike up there. It'll depend on the weather, though, cuz if it's hot, I'm not doing Mt. Diablo! It gets hot up there. We did the Angel Island hike a few years back on one of my first visits to the Bay Area, but I was a lot lighter then. Overweight still, for sure, but much lighter than I am now. It should be fun, I think. I'm going to have to break out my 3-Day fanny pack so I have plenty of water and what not.
I have determined, however, that I enjoy exercising by myself better than with the boy. The boy tries to cheer me on, but it just sounds condescending, and it ends up pissing me off. When my girlfriends and I did the 3-Day training, I was always the Caboose (seriously, it was my nickname. hehe), and I got really used to falling behind for whatever reason and ending up by myself, and I think I just prefer it that way.
